Summary Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and hard-working solicitor to join our busy team of transport lawyers representing UK and international clients in a broad spectrum of transport matters covering Criminal, Civil and Regulatory proceedings. Experience in transport law is not required, full training will be provided.

What we Do

We advise and represent clients in Public Inquiries, Prosecutions, Regulatory Investigations, Appeals, Civil Litigation and Commercial disputes relating to the carriage of goods by road and all matters involving or related to the operation of trucks and buses. Our clients range from FTSE 500 companies and major European hauliers through to small businesses and individuals. Our work representing  clients in the Upper Tribunal, High Court and Court of Appeal provides our people with an excellent opportunity to gain enviable experience in the higher courts and Tribunals and to explore a number of areas of work before developing a specialism within this niche industry.


We have a reputation for excellent client service and achieving positive results. Our solicitors and barristers have acted in many of the leading authorities and decisions in this niche area and we continue to represent clients in cases in which law is made. There is ample opportunity to network and socialise with other professionals in the industry.


The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be 2 years+ PQE, although consideration would be given to trainees and newly qualified solicitors.


Because our work involves travel to clients, Courts and Tribunals across the UK, a full valid driving licence is essential.  Opportunities to travel and meet with clients in Europe means that you will also need to hold a current passport.


Our team works flexibly around family and personal commitments with a mix of remote working and from our office in Derby. You will be encouraged to work from home and will be provided with all the IT and administrative support required to do so. You will also be fully supported in your professional development and work life balance.
