Two Week Suspension From Traffic Commissioner for LGV Driver After Guilty Plea to Two Mobile Phone Offences.

Millicent Dooher, barrister, represented the driver at the Driver Conduct Hearing, after the driver had pleaded guilty on a Single Justice Procedure Notice to two offences of driving whilst using a mobile phone. As a result of the conviction, the driver received 6 penalty points and a fine.

Owing to his remorse, experience within the haulage industry and the actions taken to prevent the commission of any further offences of using a mobile phone whilst driving, the Traffic Commissioner was persuaded to reduce the starting point to a 2-week suspension. Further the Traffic Commissioner delayed the start date of the suspension for 3 weeks in order to reduce the financial burden on the driver.
