Truck & Trailer Released Following Border Force Seizure

A well-known European haulage company approached SBC for assistance. The UK Border Force had seized a vehicle and trailer operated by one of their subsidiaries. A large number of cigarettes had been discovered in the trailer by customs officials.

SBC prepared written submissions for the return of the impounded vehicle and trailer. We were able to demonstrate that the haulier was unaware of the cigarettes, and had extensive systems in place to prevent incidents of this kind occurring.

Following these submissions, the Border Force agreed to release both the vehicle and trailer and to impose no release fee.
