Operator with Two Unsatisfactory Desk Based Assessments Escapes with Warning at Traffic Commissioner’s Public Inquiry

This Operator, represented at Public Inquiry by barrister Harry Bowyer, incurred a desk based assessment as a result of a malicious and untrue report of a wheel loss. The Desk based assessment threw up a number of short falls as did the subsequent inspection. The operator contacted SBC when the call in letter arrived and was advised to use a competent transport consultant to update their systems. They enthusiastically adopted the new systems to the extent that the Traffic Commissioner did not feel that any formal regulatory action was required and was prepared to deal with the matter by way of a formal warning and undertakings.
