Operator Operating Vehicle Over Authorisation Escapes Revocation by Skin of Teeth at Public Inquiry

This operator, represented by barrister Harry Bowyer at Public Inquiry, was operating a vehicle in excess of his authorisation for 6 months. They also had a number of maintenance issues that were of concern to the Traffic Commissioner. The Operator was subjected to the discomfort of a well deserved, clinical, dissection of his operation and lack of compliance at Public Inquiry. The fact that he had instructed  competent transport consultants to help him address the weak spots in his organisation and had made a full admission as to his behaviour allowed the Traffic Commissioner to hold back from revocation and allow the licence to continue subject to a curtailment.
