Driver Conduct Hearing: Driver has both HGV and PSV Licences Returned after Disqualification

Helen Newbold, specialist road transport barrister, represented this driver who was facing a driver conduct hearing to regain his vocational licences for both HGV’s and PSV’s after a disqualification of his private driving licence.

With a new position of professional driving work having been offered it was critical that this driver was able to successfully regain his licences in a short a time as possible. After hearing from the driver the Deputy Traffic Commissioner indicated that the licences would be returned after a short period of delay as a sanction. Helen Newbold was able to set out the drivers current position and take the Deputy Traffic Commissioner through the mitigating circumstances surrounding the driving offences. As a result the judgement handed down was that of a formal warning to the driver and the immediate return of both his licences.
