Rogue Driver Causes Multiple Operators to Be Called in.

The Operator and a Transport Manager were called into a Public Inquiry where they were represented by SBC. A single driver who had had his licence revoked but had continued to work as an HGV driver caused a number of Operators to be called in as they failed to check his licence before they allowed him to drive. In this case it was possible to show that whilst the rogue driver was associated with the operator he had never driven any of his trucks. The Transport Manager had no action taken against him and the Operator had no action taken against the licence but was required to make some undertakings.
